Someone Has to Make the First Move

I've had it said that Londoners can be very cold and unfriendly.  The way I see it, it doesn't matter what part of the country or world one lives, everyone is friendly. In order to activate that warmth and friendship, someone has to make the first move.

I don't mind making the first move, which can be as simple as smiling at a stranger or just saying hello.

The easiest way, I find, to make the first move is to send out blessings and love to all in my thoughts.

Then, wonders of wonders, people open up, smile, say hello and even bless me in return.

I remember once queuing up to get some ice cream from this van.  When I smiled at one customer he felt compelled to buy me some ice cream. I have documented numerous other examples on my blogs.

Making the first move has helped me to discover that London is one of the friendliest cities in the world.
