A Piece of Cake

When a friend had a birthday party for his daughter, I asked him if he'd saved me a piece. He said the kids had enjoyed the cake. Again, I teased him about not saving me a piece of cake. My friend asked me if I liked cakes and I said occasionally.  Icing is my favourite part.

I gave the matter no further thought.

Fast forward a few days later, my mother asked me if I fancied some cake.  Turns out she'd bought a huge carrot cake from a church friend who bakes cakes, which she wanted to share with me.

I had a piece and it was delicious.

For God, meeting the desires of our hearts is always a piece of cake.
