The One Who Knows How

As it was a hot day, I planned to do the shopping early and then spend the rest of the afternoon indoors and keep cool. As it's also the time of the month, I felt relaxing would do me a lot of good. By mid-afternoon, I had a thought that the weather wasn't that hot and how lovely it would feel to go for a walk by the canal. I had some personal stuff I needed to think about so I thought it would be good to do it during my walk.

As I was walking down this road, I saw this man sitting outside his house. I said hello. He wanted to chat further, but I wasn't in the mood. I waved and continued to my destination.

As I was walking by the river, I thought about how the space represents the one Mind that we all share. At one point, when I started feeling hot, I noticed several guys sitting by the river. One of them asked me if I fancied a swim. I said no, waved and walked on. Within a minute, a dog ran towards me and jumped on me leaving a wet paw print on my leg.

"I see you've been swimming then!" I said to the dog.

Maybe, it was the dog's way of keeping me cool!

To keep myself cool, I repeated "nice cool breeze" a few times and it got cloudy which made it cool. There was also a nice cool breeze.  I also noticed lots of shade I could walk in, which made the walk more pleasant.

On the way back, I decided to use another route home. Who should I see riding his bicycle towards me? The same man I had seen earlier. He now had my attention.

He told me he'd recently been in hospital. He started telling me about all his financial problems and how tough he was finding life. After listening to him for a few minutes, I told him I had to go and wished him well.

I haven't got the resources to resolve my friend's problems but I KNOW someOne who can, God. I believe only God, who is the Source or all, can meet all human needs.

I reckon I was inspired to take the walk so I would meet the man and then pray on his behalf.

I've also put his name on a prayer list.
