During my bus journey, I got chatting to a passenger sitting beside me about the roads and the traffic. They've been doing major roadworks in the area and converted one road from one way to two ways. My friend said she remembered back in the day when it used to be two ways.
My friend then told me about where she lives and how it took them years to get permits to park her car outside her house. She said they've recently had new neighbours who have two cars and they have already got permits. She said she was very upset how some people can move in and get things so easily while she and her husband work hard to maintain their lifestyle. (Her neighbours are immigrants. My friend is a second generation immigrant too, presumably she was born in the UK).
As my stop was fast approaching, I said to her, "Do you believe in God?"
"Then look to God for your good. No one can take away your good from you."
"That's exactly what my other neighbour has been telling me," she said. "She's a Christian and she always says to me 'Don't worry, the Lord is taking care of us.'"
"Exactly, look to God!"
"I am a Muslim and we are meant to speak to God!" she said.
"There you go then!" I squeezed her hand.
I quickly said goodbye as we'd arrived at my stop.
Instead of worrying about what your neighbour has, look to the Source, where everything comes from.
No one can deprive you of your good unless you believe they can.
